Weekly therapy appears to accelerate the rate of improvement compared to less frequent schedules.

This systematic review aimed to synthesize the literature on the dose-response effect in routine psychological therapies delivered to adult patients with mental health problems. Twenty-six studies were eligible for inclusion.
Assuming that toxicity is minimized or nonexistent in a behavioral intervention, an optimal dose can be defined as either the maximally efficacious dose that is not conditional on patient adherence (intended dose) or the maximally effective (actual or observed) dose that is conditional on adherence.
• Is the dosage for this patient adequate? The debate moves away from how many sessions for a group of patients with a given disorder/diagnosis to the optimal dosage/treatment for the specific patient.
To define a clinically meaningful change in psychotherapy; to review the dose-response literature; to illustrate what dosage of psychotherapy was required to produce an effect; and to compare these findings with a national database of individuals receiving psychotherapy.

26 Σεπ 2014 · Probably, the most commonly recognized treatment intensity dimension is treatment dose. Although dose was described across all three papers as session length and frequency and across two papers as total treatment duration, other aspects of dose were also considered important.
