Patches are updates to the game client. They fix known bugs and exploits, and add features and elements to the game, including new Versions that bring changes to heroes, items, and mechanics. Most major patches come with an official changelog, but not all alterations are mentioned.
During the 6.71 – 6.78c era, DotA would receive updates while Dota 2 would get parity updates ported later, as part of the invite-only beta test for Dota 2's gameplay. The beta ended on 2013-07-09 and Dota 2 was officially released as a free to play game.

Additionally, a few bugs were fixed over the last several days: Fixed Iron Talon being affected by spell amp and damage resistance; Fixed Khanda working on illusions (now has the same behavior as Phylactery) Fixed true sight not working correctly with Bristleback's Seeing Red
