After the 1955 merger between the American Federation of Labor (AFL) and the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) forming the AFL-CIO, Local 1707 joined the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This affiliation continues today.

28 Σεπ 2016 · NEW YORK – Mayor de Blasio today extends his support and applauds members of the District Council 1707 (DC 1707) and the Day Care Council of New York (DCCNY) on their new contract agreement, which marks the first comprehensive salary increases for the worker’s union since 2006.
