Dosing Information of Doxepin for Dogs. Medication should never be administered without first consulting your veterinarian. In dogs, doxepin is dosed at 0.25 to 0.5 mg per pound (0.5 to 1 mg/kg) orally every 12 hours or 1.5 to 2.5 mg per pound (3 to 5 mg/kg) orally every 8 to 12 hours.
