And doxepin cream is applied 4 times a day for up to 8 days to help treat itchy skin. Doxepin can cause drowsiness, so use caution when driving after taking it.
Solution. Doxepin is a tricyclic antidepressant well known by dermatologists for its antipruritic effects when used at low doses. However, it is not commonly known that the US Food and Drug Administration approves doses up to 300 mg/day.
