I give you 2 options to get champion armor set. 1. Extract the rar file. 2. Select the reward file coresponding to your class. DO NOT USE the same file for another class, it will not work. 3. Place it in your overide folder: My Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\overide. If you use the "Act 1" file: 4.
There's also Evolving Champion which does the same thing for the Champion armor set. Some more minor mods that I recently discovered are Darkspawn Variations is nice if you want more variation when fighting darkspawn. You will need to have the Legacy DLC for that mod though.
There are MANY armor and weapon mods available from the Nexus, including retextures and custom armors. Better and Evolving Companion Weapons - Companion weapons improve on level-up, plus additional stats.
This mod gives you the real champion armors seen at the later portions of the game right from the start. It also gives you the fake champion weapons which you see in trailers, in the demo and in the actual prologue of the game.
