However, out of His mercy, Allah SWT has made a prescribed dua in the Quran that we can use to bring some Sakinah. Also through our Prophet (ﷺ), we learned guidance on how to handle our grief and how to help our loved ones by giving them the following Dua.
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things we face in life, and may leave us feeling overwhelmed with grief, hurt, and confusion. As such, we can make various du’as for the deceased as a way of comfort for ourselves, and to ask Allah (SWT) to provide our loved ones with ease as they depart this Dunya and begin their journey after death.
Reciting dua for the deceased child during the funeral prayer helps offer support to the parents and the community. It allows the community to share the grief of the parents and offer heartfelt condolence and compassion.
The dua of a righteous child provides an immense amount of reward for their deceased parent. We should always make dua for our deceased family members, for their forgiveness first and foremost before anything else, as per the guidance of the Prophet (SAW).
