Cindy Pierson Dulay is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on horse racing for 19 years. She is an award-winning photographer whose picture of Stephan's Angel leaping in the air before the Miss Preakness Stakes in 2004 won an Eclipse Award for the best thoroughbred racing photograph in North America that year.

This photo was printed in Mid Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine and won the Eclipse Award for best thoroughbred horse racing photo of 2004. This photo was taken in May 2010 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The horse, Seeking the Title, stumbled during the race and lost her jockey.
