The Curonian (Courish) Spit (Lithuanian: Kuršių nerija; Russian: Ку́ршская коса́) is a 98-kilometre (61 mi) long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by Lithuania and Russia.

2 Σεπ 2021 · Curonian Spit is home to some of the largest sand dunes in Europe. The stretch is covered with sand dunes and pine forests and is one of the most beautiful places in the small country. Many people overlook the Curonian Spit as the coast sits a fair distance from Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital.
The huge sand dunes in Vityazevo are a landmark not only of this resort village, but also of the entire Caucasian coast of the Black Sea. There is nothing like this in other resorts of the Caucasus and Crimea.
13 Μαΐ 2024 · The biggest attraction of the Curonian Spit is its dunes and another great place to see the dunes is the Nagliai Nature Reserve. Located right next to the main road between Juodkrante and Pervalaka towns, this place should also be included in any Curonian Spit itinerary.
