- Medium-range Forecasts
ECMWF is the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. We are both a research institute and a 24/7 operational service, producing global numerical weather predictions and other data for our Member and Co-operating States and the broader community.
HRES. HRES is a single forecast (horizontal resolution around 9 km) which provides a description of one possible evolution of the weather out to 10 days ahead. Find out more about model configurations.
Simulated visible images show simulations of the upward flux of radiation (as would be detected by a weather satellite) derived from information using the model representation of temperatures and cloud layers.
Latest forecast. 2 m temperature and 30 m wind. Air temperatures at 2 m above the earth's surface approximate most closely to the conditions a person would most likely experience... Latest forecast. 100 m wind and mean sea level pressure. These charts show surface pressure patterns.
Latest forecast. Experimental: AIFS (ECMWF) ML model: Temperature and geopotential at various pressure levels. AIFS (ECMWF): a deep learning-based system developed by ECMWF. It is initialised with ECMWF HRES analysis. AIFS operates at 0.25° resolution.
The HRES (current horizontal resolution 9km, vertical resolution 137 levels) is a single run forecast model run twice daily giving forecasts to Day15 based on 00UTC and 12UTC data times. The HRES provides a detailed description of future weather and also for 3.5 days at 06UTC and 18UTC.
