For added ease of tuning, a Calibration Reference Chart for your model of carburetor has been included. The spark-ignition 4-cycle engine burns a mixture of AIR and FUEL. The air is controlled by the driver’s operation of the throttle. The fuel is mixed with the incoming air by the carburetor. The Ratio of AIR to FUEL is the AIR/FUEL Ratio (A/F).
Before you attempt to establish a new calibration, please ensure you have installed your Edelbrock carburetor according to the Installation Instructions supplied with the carburetor. Be sure that the engine is in a sound state of tune. All ignition items must be in proper working order, including reasonably fresh plugs of the correct heat range.
