If you have the Option 40 contract, you will find your Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training ( AIT ) are combined into one 22-week course.
Army Rangers take on some of the most advanced and rigorous training in the Army. To become a Ranger, you’ll first be tested in the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP)—a two-phase program to test your abilities and train you to become an Army Ranger.
Officers have to meet even higher standards to join the Ranger Regiment. In addition to the enlisted requirements, officers must: Be an officer of grade O-1 through O-4 (2LT – MAJ) Qualify for a Top Secret security clearance; Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher; Be a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School
Lower enlisted soldiers and sergeants attend RASP 1, an eight-week course that trains soldiers in the basic skills and tactics required to operate in the 75th Ranger Regiment.
The Rangers’ primary mission is to engage in close combat and direct-fire battles. Once selected, Rangers must complete the Army Ranger School, one of the military’s most grueling training courses. This 61-day course challenges candidates across three phases: the Benning Phase, Mountain Phase, and Florida Phase.
