1 year ago. La Romana is a generalized name they use for the south Caribbean Sea side of the Dominican but actually La Romana is a big city. You will want to stay in the Bayahibe/Dominicus area. Bayahibe is a small fishing village with shops and restaurants. This area is very safe.
