24 Νοε 2023 · There is only one move in chess which moves two pieces in a single move and this is the special move called "castling" where the King and a Rook both move in the same move. There is no such move where both Bishops can move in a single move.
There's one exception to the "one piece per move" rule in chess: castling. This special move allows the king to jump two squares towards a rook, while the rook hops over the king to the adjacent square.
Copied from the FIDE handbook. When is Il Vaticano valid? Provided that two bishops: (i) of the same player (ii) on squares of differing colour (iii) on the same rank or the same file (iv) are two squares apart (v) with both in-between squares occupied by enemy pieces,
its, two bishops sandwiching two enemy pawns. the bishops swap places with each other (a bit like castling) and the enemy pawns are captured. this instructional video might help (but see disagreements below, since its performed on non-pawn pieces)
