10 Ιαν 2023 · I wondered how good ER Shaw barrels were. What kind of accuracy has been gotten out of them? They only do 1 in 8,10 or 12 twists in a 308 Cal. Will the 1 in 8 work for 208 to 240 grainers, or will there be some problems with the twist? I'm a newbie here, I'm excited and looking forward to getting replies.
21 Ιουν 2017 · So far they all 5 shoot very good, much better than a factory rifle. But the two ER Shaw barrels are both outstanding as you can see above. They say a barrel and best accuracy are seen after 200 or so shots...can't wait to see what these two riflesh will do then!
5 Νοε 2012 · I picked up one of the 20" threaded Savage .308 barrels last year just to have a bolt .308 option again (now has the .243 barrel on the action). I'm not sure on durability but it shoots MOA with the right loads at 100-300yds (not had past there).
20 Νοε 2008 · When I worked for an up & coming AR piston company, our first few hundred barrels were from ER Shaw. They shot well enough & seemed to be consistently 1 MOA barrels. I have seen them shoot well enough that for an economy build where absolute precision is not your first concern, I would use one.
9 Ιουλ 2014 · Both of my Er Shaws 1/14" twisted, 24" long .223 varmint barrels print in the sub moa all the time. I took a chance and bought them both at midway when they were on sale for $139 for the kit, very happy I did and more happy they shot better than a lot of the more expensive barrels.
15 Φεβ 2018 · I purchased a 16" ER Shaw barrel for my 10/22. No matter the ammo, bedding combinations, barrel band or pressure pad I could never get it to shoot as good as my factory sporter barrel. It wasn't much worse but definitely wasn't a step in the right direction.
Those are all production grade barrels, some pay for the better procedures some do not. ER Shaw will make a barrel to any specification, any twist, any rifling, any contour, any caliber. Add Alexander Arms, Addax, M&A parts, YHM, Double Star, and Midway's AR Stoner to that list, probably many more.
