The Lake Erie Management Unit (LEMU) encompasses all of the waters that drain into Lake Erie. Our work area includes all or portions of the following counties: Hillsdale, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Sanilac, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

LANSING, Mich. — Governor Gretchen Whitmer and departmental leaders on Dec. 17 unveiled Michigan’s final adaptive management plan serving as the companion document to the previously released Domestic Action Plan (DAP) addressing the causes driving harmful algal blooms in Lake Erie.
