The E5 carries the scales adroitly, being sufficiently agile to not miss detail and follow through on the notes. Due to its exceptional bass, this remains true even for the lowest piano register. Decays fade evenly into oblivion, then the sustain pedal descends and fini.

27 Φεβ 2007 · The New Esound CD-E5 Signature is better sounding, better looking and offers a new photo preamp board and dsp circuitry, now made with highest quality selected batch of the VAM 1202 philips mechanism, unlike the model made 1 year ago (like the unit user Stereo had owned).

The ESound CD-E5 SE (Signature Edition) is a hefty player by any means. It is bigger and heavier than my power amp, and weighs 13 kilos. The casing is made out of substantial slabs of aluminium, the thinnest of which is the top plate, at 3 mm.
