A special occasion license allows a bona fide nonprofit organization to sell liquor at a specific time, date and place. Examples of events include fundraising dinners, gala events, auctions, and wine tastings.
The special occasion license allows a registered nonprofit organization to sell spirits, beer and wine by the individual serving for on-premises consumption at a specified date, time and place (i.e. fundraising dinner, gala event, auction, wine tasting).

The Alcohol Service Request (ASR) is the online form users submit via this website in order to determine the type of license or permit necessary to provide alcohol at an event. The form was previously known as the Banquet Permit request form.
Special Occasion License. Donated alcohol must be sold at cost to event attendees. A WA State Special Occasion License is required when: Event IS open to the general public. Or, alcohol will be SOLD and the proceeds will be returned to the host organization.
