27 Μαρ 2022 · You have nothing to lose, the recall is free. Try it, you can always spend your money later. I had it done, at 26,000 miles, not because it was needed, but now I have a new steering damper. Win win.
3 Μαρ 2016 · I was not experiencing any issues prior, but since it was a safety recall I had them do it. It was installed in the correct orientation and I have noticed absolutely no difference in the handling/steering whatsoever.
16 Νοε 2022 · If the definition is off “fixed” is “we stopped the symptom” then yes, a steering damper can fix the Death Wobbles. If the definition of “fixed” is, “we found the cause of the symptoms and eliminated the cause” then no, a steering stabilizer will not fix the Death Wobbles.
6 Ιαν 2024 · The steering dampener is a non-servicable component, just like the Rubicon lockers are not servicable. The only way to fix your steering dampener is to throw the Jeep away and purchase a new one. tr21triton, Apparition, Cooper Smith and 2 others.
10 Ιουν 2006 · I just picked up a new steering damper to replace the stock piece of crap. It's an Italian made unit. Only 8 clicks of adjustment from none to very stiff, but it seems to be very effective. It's a very nice looking unit too that bolts straight into the stock location.
