Note, Jesus did not say that you need to believe in the 'Son of God', in order to inherit eternal life (heaven or the world to come). Jesus just affirmed two verses in the Torah that say people need to love God intensely; and love their neighbors as much as they love themselves.
He was still a human being, (Holy Qur’an 19:31) who believed in the absolute Unity and Indivisibility of God (Qur’an 3:52). Muslims believe that Jesus was undoubtedly called the son of God, but this title has only been employed metaphorically and in fact is used for all the chosen ones of God.
