Hourly and biweekly rates of pay for most Federal civilian employees are computed as required by 5 U.S.C. 5504(b). Hourly rates of basic pay are computed by dividing an employee's annual rate of basic pay by 2,087 hours.
General Schedule employees will receive an across-the-board federal pay raise of 4.7% in 2024 plus a locality pay adjustment. The 2024 pay charts are now available. Some federal employees will be getting raises as high as 15.5% up to 33% in 2024 due to locality area “expansion”.
General Schedule law enforcement officers (LEOs) at grades GS-3 through GS-10 are entitled to a higher locality rate.
