Clavicle fractures take the same time to heal with or without surgery. Usually, the breaks heals in around 6-8 weeks but it is fairly common that it can take up to 3 months.
Group 1: the orthopaedic surgeon will apply a figure-of-eight bandage (UDINE®) (Fig. 1a) – no attempt will be made to reduce the fracture. The figure-of-eight bandage will be used for 4 weeks, and every week the participants will return for checking and adjusting the immobilisations.
