MiWAM is the UIA's system for managing your own unemployment insurance account online. With MiWAM you can: Check claim balance and benefit payment history. Update personal information. Choose or change payment method (debit card or direct deposit). Make a payment. File a protest or appeal a decision. Submit monthly work search information.
Checking on Your Application. You can check the status of your claim online or by calling 1-866-500-0017 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on weekdays. After You Apply. After you apply for unemployment, the UIA will decide if you are eligible and if you qualify for benefits. The UIA will mail you a determination.
MiWAM (Michigan Web Account Manager) allows you to file an initial claim and certify biweekly, change your contact information, respond to fact-finding requests, file an appeal, send online inquiries in for resolution, and anonymously report unemployment fraud.
