The FIRE series replaced the old Fiat 100 series overhead valve engines in the mid-1980s. Mechanically, they are simple inline-four engines with five main bearings crankshaft and overhead cam heads. Since 1985, it has been constructed in different versions. Displacements range from 0.8 to 1.4 L; 46.9 to 83.5 cu in (769 to 1,368 cc).
15 Ιουλ 2012 · afaik, or remember, its just a pipe inside the transmission, not 100% but it hasnt got a strainer on it. first line of defence is the filter on the pump.
The Fiat "100 series" engine are vertical with the distribution chain camshaft mounted in the crankcase , to rods and rocker arms with head in aluminum alloy to 8 valves , 3-shaft crankshaft, with transverse front or rear longitudinal layout produced by the Italian car manufacturer FIAT at Mirafiori and then in Bielsko-Biała from 1955 to 2000 .
Most issues will probably come from what past owners did to it. Example: if the car has had water on the cooling system instead of antifreeze, you will have a lot of overheating issues. When it comes to the abarth kits: Don't use them unless you're planning on doing extensive work on the engine.
