2 Οκτ 2024 · lel frost has 0 survivability. ice barrier uses up 1 GCD to absorb less than a GCDs worth of damage. as soon as a rogue sneezes at you, you grey screen immediately. like all melee specs are unkitable, rendering the vanilla mage essentially useless in PvP. this is the case, brother.
Deep fire is your only option for getting lucky and hopefully getting a hot streak proc. Every mage tree needs access to ice barrier or ice block. Frost feels horrible.
I would suggest just going standard frost spec, and use living flame, ice lance, chronostatic preservation, fingers of frost and arcane barrage (really op with rank 1 frostbolt, extremely fast cast that slows and can proc arcane barrage).
