11 Μαΐ 2012 · I had to remove a door gasket (rope type) and all the glue. Also, when measuring for my baffle plate I noticed my Mama doesn't have the steel shelf under the rear flue opening like my Baby Bear does.

13 Ιαν 2021 · A form of adhesive is used to cement a gasket to the inside of a wood stove door. Fibreglass is a very heat resistant material, which makes it perfect for use in wood stoves. It’s also fairly soft and so can help stoves to provide an airtight seal when the door is closed.

You will greatly improve performance with a baffle plate. 5/16 thick is the best thickness, 3/8 is acceptable for the single door stoves. Wider double doors should be 5/16. Only the double door stoves after 1980 had factory baffle installed to reduce smoke for upcoming EPA regulations.
