8 Φεβ 2023 · The Kalu'ak Fishing Derby is a weekly event in Wrath of the Lich King Classic that tests the skill of all fishing zealots across Northrend. Winning this event rewards one of two desirable items -- the heirloom ring Dread Pirate Ring or the fishing boots Boots of the Bay.

This is the quest completed by the first person to win the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby each week. Like the Booty Bay contest, there is a quest for winning, and a quest for all the later anglers ("Better Luck Next Time"). And you don't take either quest until you have the catch.
Horde characters can get Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 via the Snapjaws Mon! quest in the hinterlands, which gives +25 to fishing and is therefore the best possible pole (aside form the one you can win in this tournament) to fish with.
The Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza is also known as the Booty Bay fishing competition or tournament. As the name suggests, the event takes place in Stranglethorn Vale. It occurs every Sunday afternoon from 14:00 to 16:00 ( (server time, which may not be the same as local time)).
