To obtain a Learners Permit in the state of Florida you must complete: 1) The 4-hour DATA (Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness) Course; and, 2) Florida Permit Test which covers Road Signs and Traffic Laws.
All drivers ages 15 to 17 years old must keep their Learners Permit free of points for 12 consecutive months before applying for a full driver's license. If a Learners Permit driver receives a ticket and wants to avoid the points, a State of Florida authorized Traffic School must be completed.
