  1. 29 Νοε 2008 · Testing pickups in my hoard, with the Monarch-P in mind, I revisited and quickly chose the Klein. (If you’ve read any of my reviews here, you know that I'm a bit of a bass pickup freak. So sensitive… so particular!) When I asked Fodera if they would use a pickup I supplied, for building a Standard bass, to my delight and surprise they said yes.

  2. 14 Μαρ 2007 · I bought a Monarch Standard 4 string last December. It's super-easy to play, weighs only 8.5 pounds, and is quite versatile. I even like the sound of the front pickup soloed and I'm not normally a fan of that sound. Mine has dual coils and that allows more tonal options. It cost a small fortune but I can't say I regret it.

  3. 29 Νοε 2008 · A lovely range of timbres between traditional bass guitar, and twangy Telecaster, and the beginnings of grand piano. Compared to my Monarch-P, this bass goes even further in the direction of uncannily well-defined note envelopes. Most noticeable in harmony and chords, this is particularly suited to articulate and tactile playing.

  4. 10 Δεκ 2012 · Today, roughly five percent of guitars made by Fodera are 6-strings, but they're hoping to change that with the introduction of a guitar line at winter NAMM 2013. Although Fodera has crafted more than 3,000 instruments, his most popular bass is the Monarch, which is based on Fodera #2—the bass that launched the company into folklore.

  7. 13 Ιαν 2008 · #1. So… had some time to kill this morning and went to one of my local Guitar Centers to burn 30 minutes. To my surprise, they had a “new” 2021 Yin-Yang Monarch Standard 5 in stock that I immediately asked to test drive. The associate took it down and I plugged it into a Markbass 2x10 combo. It sounded and played phenomenally!
