He is speaking to us today.” What Francis meant by “Gospel” was Jesus, the living Word of God made living flesh and living with us today. “Brothers, I know Holy Writ—I know the poor Christ,” he said.

19 Ιαν 2022 · It’s a beautiful read, but nowhere in the Complete Works of St. Francis and St. Clare is the poem a direct quote. You can find sections of writing that clearly influenced the poems attributed to St. Francis, but I haven’t come across this one in the writings yet.
