Ju-on, Kairo, and One Missed Call are good to see the most famous j-horror films (and A Tale of Two Sisters but that's Korean) and to see how bad the American versions are comparitively (although The Grudge was done by the same director as the original so it's probably on par, not sure).

I haven't seen a few of these, I know what I'm going to have to find now :) Despite being low on the IMDb I liked Sadako v Kayako. The Wailing is the best horror movie featuring a Japanese actor. 115 votes, 16 comments. 938K subscribers in the japan community.
Where could I watch Japanese horror movies with English subtitles? Is there any platform or service which contains for example Kairo, Ringu, The Eye and other Japanese movies? I can't find them anywhere on the more popular platforms, only western remakes.

I have been struggling to find a really good streaming service or website to just watch some Japanese, Korean, or Chinese Horror films because not many streaming services have a lot to offer. I honestly cannot stand seeing the same films like The Ring, The Grudge, or One Missed Call.
What are the scariest Japanese horror movies? Hello! It's Friday and I've decided to venture into the Japanese side of horror movies after an uneventful day at work. I've seen very few (the Ring and Pulse), does anyone have any good recommendations? Thanks! Add a Comment. Sort by: Unable_Occasion_3096. • 2 yr. ago • Edited 2 yr. ago.
Redditors provided a variety of Japanese horror movie recommendations, with some users suggesting well-known films like Hausu and The Host, while others recommended lesser-known titles such as Incantation (2022) and Ju-On White Ghost.
