ASL Classes. California School for the Deaf is recognized for its academic rigor and direct bilingual instruction in American Sign Language and English. The school is located in Fremont, CA.
Classes are held once a week, for 2 hours. Semesters are 6 weeks long. Level 1 is a 6 week session focusing on the introduction to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. You will develop a strong basic ASLary (OUR word for vocabulary), syntax, and grammar.
The American School for the Deaf has been offering non-credit community sign language classes for over 45 years. Our American Sign Language (ASL) classes cater to three different groups: Adult, Youth, and Babies. And now introducing: Elementary age classes, for those ages 4-7 years old!

We offer for-credit, online ASL courses as well as in-person Summer courses. Both introductory and advanced courses are available. Check out all of the engaging and interactive features we offer when you sign up for one of our courses.
Some ASL classes are currently online through Zoom. If you are new to ASL, we suggest starting with Introduction to ASL & Vocabulary, followed by ASL 1, 2, & 3. ASL Storytelling is recommended for those who are taking ASL 1 to 3, or who are already signers.
ABC Languages offers in-person and online group American Sign classes for adults in a variety of levels, from total beginner to advanced conversation. Taught by professional, engaging ASL teachers, these classes are a great way to meet fellow ASL learners and build your signing skills.
