The most likely is the victim is allowing scammers to use them as the fall guy for the scams they are running - the police will pay the laptop owner a visit sooner or later, and all evidence will point to them being the scammers.

Fall Guys has lots of weird and maddening bugs. I have seen this very situation in Blastball several times. I was in a game with a twitch streamer, and on my screen, their platform was gone. But sure as shit, you could see on their stream, that the platform was still there for them.
After checking, Creative Expansion Pack seems to not explicitly be against Fall Guys' EULA, this mod doesn't give you a "competitive advantage" over a player playing a legitimate and unmodified copy of the game.
