5 Δεκ 2023 · A Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) verifies an employee’s identity and eligibility to work in the United States. The form contains sections for both the employee and the employer to fill out.
1 Αυγ 2024 · Use Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must properly complete Form I-9 for every individual they hire for employment in the United States. This includes citizens and noncitizens.
Collect necessary identification documents from the employee. 2. Have the employee complete Section 1 of Form I-9. 3. Employers must examine the documents presented. 4. Complete Section 2 of Form I-9 within the designated time. 5. Retain the completed form per the retention requirements.
I-9 Central. Veterans. Workers Under 18. Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
