Some children with ADHD might have specific learning difficulties (assessed by school and / or Educational Psychology Services and / or Paediatricians) and social communication problems which may need further consideration as well as an ADHD assessment.
Current best practice in evaluating children for ADHD requires the use of multiple assessment methods and sources of information, including diagnostic interviews with parents and teachers, behavior rating scales completed by parents and teachers, direct observations of behavior in school or clinic settings, and review of available school records.
