  1. Read how to stay safe from Cybercrime. You're contacted out the blue. Contacted unexpectedly by phone, email, text, direct message or pop-up with a request for personal information or money. Bank of America will never text, email, call, or visit you at your home asking for personal or account information.

  2. Verify any phone number that appears in a text message. If you’re in doubt, call the client service number on our Contact Us page, on your statement or on the back of your credit, debit or ATM card. If you receive what appears to be a fraudulent text message, we urge you to report it immediately.

  5. If you received a suspicious phone message and provided personal or financial information, contact us immediately at 800-432-1000. You can also forward any suspicious text message to your cell phone provider at 7726 (“SPAM”) and follow their instructions.

  6. If you receive any suspicious email or text message that appears to be from Bank of America, forward it to us at abuse@bankofamerica.com. Remember: Don’t transfer money or make payments as a result of an unexpected phone call or text.

  7. 13 Σεπ 2024 · If you haven't enabled text notifications, be suspicious: The message purportedly from your bank is almost certainly a scam, and you should report it to your bank and the FTC (see below).
