There are two ways to submit your application for renewal: Renew Your Credential Online: Qualifying credentials may be renewed online using the Educator Login button on the Commission’s website. Credentials renewed online are generally processed within 10 working days.

Educators can renew the following documents using CTC Online: Clear Credentials or Level II Credentials. Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permits. Child Development Permits at the Teacher Level and Above.
The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is an agency in the Executive Branch of California State Government. It was created in 1970 by the Ryan Act and is the oldest of the autonomous state standards boards in the nation.
This application (Form 41-4) is the Commission’s universal application, and is used for all first-time and renewal applications regardless of the type of credential certificate, or permit you are applying for.
To renew your eligible credential (s)/permit (s), you must login to your CTC educator profile. Please visit www.ctc.ca.gov, click Educator Login. Find the document you wish to renew listed under Renew Your Document. If you have difficulty, you may refer to Renew Your Document Online.
To renew your Clear Credential, simply login to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) website, choose the document you wish to renew and pay the application fee. It's important to note that renewing the clear credential can only be done online at the moment.
