Easy to notice and figure out what's different. If you're wanting to do much level design using GMS, then 2 is a huge, huge upgrade. However, there are plenty of good outside resources to design levels, so that's not a necessity, in my opinion. GMS 2 is also more prone to crashes and bugs.
