8 Μαρ 2012 · 1) WAY better. The Edge 3 is a low end bridge is lives upto it. The Edge Zero 2, on the other hand, is a good, quality tremolo. It has locking studs, the ZPS system, and generally stronger and longer lasting parts, and all of that together, make the Edge Zero 2 a MUCH better tremolo. 2) All 2012 models should have the Edge Zero 2.

In terms of performance and tuning stability, a Floyd Rose Special is on-par with an Original Floyd Rose, given that it is set up well and properly maintained. The same can be said about the Edge Zero II. It's a question of materials and longevity more than anything.
The ZR is a different bridge. The ZR uses a ball bearing system but the Edge Zero uses knife-edges. I miss the ZR bridge and deeply regret selling my S420 that had it (but I put some of the money towards an RG Prestige, so there's a silver lining)

Finally, I found that vibrato is extremely good job, no worries of disagreement even by the above Satriani, very nice finish, well worth the price (in $ 280) Almost two years of use, no problem désaccordagee particular.
