1 Νοε 2022 · In this paper, we trace the history of gender-transformative approaches (1990 to March 2022); explore the breadth of applications in development described in both grey and academic literature; and identify five principles to guide future gender-transformative approaches with a focus on interventions.
The research has focused on gender identity development in early childhood and gendered influences on health differences and social roles in later adolescence, but very little captures gender role development during early adolescence.

Searches were conducted for English article using four databases: psycINFO, CINAHL, Sociological Abstract, and SCOPUS.
