Apply for a Firearms License. Eligible Georgians may apply for a Weapons Carry License to carry out of state. A Weapons Carry License (WCL), also called a firearms license, allows you to legally carry a concealed firearm in states that practice firearm permit reciprocity with Georgia.

Weapons Carry Application. Georgia residents who are at least 21 years old may apply for a Weapons Carry License. Residents between the ages of 18 to 20 years old with certain military training may also apply. Applications must be made at the Probate Court in the Applicant's county of residence.

You may now electronically submit the Preliminary Gun Permit Application securely online. When filling out the preliminary gun permit appication online, if you are a renewal permit and are getting an error message, please select new license application.
