Basic Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older; must provide a copy of criminal history and proof of lawful presence in the United States. Training Requirements: 2,000 hours of real estate appraisal experience over the course of at least 12 months.
The path to becoming an appraiser begins with earning your State Trainee Appraiser classification from the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board (GREAB). You must be at least 18-years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Complete 90 hours of qualifying education courses as outlined by the GREAB.
The GREAB approves individual instructors by name to teach courses approved to meet the education requirements for state registered real property appraiser, for state licensed real property appraiser, for state certified residential real property appraiser and for state certified general real property appraiser.
(1) All applicants for state licensed real property appraiser, state certified residential real property appraiser, or state certified general real property appraiser must have experience in real property appraisal activity as provided by 539-1-.16.
State Test Required: Yes. Texas Certified Real Estate Appraiser. A certified real estate appraiser is the second level of Texas state licensing for the appraisal of real property. It is one above from licensed and one under general certified (commercial).
