There are six levels of clue scroll: A beginner clue is a very low difficulty treasure trail available to free-to-play players. An easy clue is a low difficulty treasure trail, with a low reward yield. A medium clue scroll is a medium difficulty treasure trail with a more substantial reward yield.
This article contains all the possible clues when doing clue scrolls. For clues related to a specific clue scroll, see Treasure Trails/Full guide.
Hard clue scrolls can be between 4-6 clues long, with multiple enemies to defeat and can have high-levelled quest requirements. Elite clue scrolls can be between 5-7 (on rare occasions 8) clues long, with multiple fights, and puzzles every step.
Medium clue scrolls can be between three and five clues long with some quest requirements. See also: Treasure Trails/Guide/Emote clues/Items. Used to solve clues and required to exchange for a new clue scroll. Use this to dig for a clue. Use this to travel over large distances. Use these to restore energy.
There are a total of 20 free-to-play quests in Old School RuneScape, offering a total of 42 quest points. This is a list of all free-to-play quests. The difficulty of a quest varies depending on each player's strengths and weaknesses.
