Positraction rearends will usually have a tag on the right lower cover bolt with a two- or three-digit axle code and/or production date. Rearends with open differentials usually have a tag located on the left lower cover-mounting bolt.

25 Μαρ 2016 · The new corporate 10-bolt started with a medium, 8.5-inch ring gear diameter but retained the 12-bolt’s pinion shaft diameter of 1.625-inches to give it strength. As with all GM Salisbury rear axle assemblies, the number of bolts, in this case 10, refers to both the ring gear bolt count and the number of bolts retaining the rear cover.
