I went back to GolfWeek in 2020 then US Am Tour replaced Golf Channel in June 2020. I've played both tours since then and continue to do so now. Check out this video of me playing (not well) the first GolfWeek tourney of the season and talking about the differences.
19 Φεβ 2021 · Good competition and mostly good people. I recommend it if you want strong, flighted competition. Note though that it costs about twice what you'd spend for a weekend round of golf. There is prize money (gift cards to Dicks/GG) which pays top 25% of flight. Also skins, giant skins, closest to hole (all additional money).
31 Ιουλ 2020 · I wanted to join the Golf Channel AM tour, but that is scrapped, so I was looking for something close, just to play more golf. I recall it was more affordable than the golf channel version. Some of those were over $200 per tourney for public courses.

Its cheap and a great way to play the uber-exclusive clubs in this area/region.With that said, I've never played competitive golf in my life...even with my buddies. I'm currently a 7.3, which puts me toward the end of the "A flight" ...
It can get pricey if you're comparing it to everyday rounds, but I don't really worry about the price. I wouldn't do it just to win money (aka gift cards) or to try new courses; those are both nice, but in that sense, it's not really worth it unless you win a lot. I do it to compete, meet other golf addicts, and build my tournament prowess.
I've been playing Golfweek Am Tour for a couple of years and even went to the National Championship in 2022 down in Hilton Head. Absolutely great time. My tour is ran pretty well and is competitive. Our champ flight is very weak, maybe 1-3 guys per tourney, but the other flights are very competitive.
31 Οκτ 2023 · Does anyone here play on the Golfweek Am Tour? I would love to hear your thoughts. I love competitive golf but I'm wondering if it is worth it. Would love to hear about other Amateur Tours as well if anyone has experience with them. TIA. I used to play the one in the Houston area.
