The GOMAD diet, an abbreviation for “Gallon of Milk a Day,” is a weight-gaining diet program where individuals consume 1 Gallon of Milk a day which is roughly around 4.5L. This adds an extra 2500 calories per day, nearly double the typical daily calorie intake for most physically active individuals thus promoting weight gain.
I was reading lots about the GOMAD diet and I loved milk at the time so I said screw it, picked up a gallon of milk and started going to town on the jug. Everyday it got a lot easier to finish these jugs of milk and I gained around 10-15lbs in 4-5weeks.
I drink Fairlife lactose free 2% milk. It’s expensive, but it’s 120 calories and 13g protein in one cup. I drink 4-6 cups a day and that supplements my main meals perfectly. I don’t think I’ll ever do GOMAD, but i’ve done 1/2 GOMAD before.
