Best stops along Los Angeles to Mexico City drive. The top stops along the way from Los Angeles to Mexico City (with short detours) are Restaurant El Malecón, La Jolla Cove, and Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Other popular stops include LEGOLAND California, Balboa Park, and San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
It's a poverty-striken border town with nothing of redeeming value except some Mexican crafts if that interests you. You can tour or drive down the Baja (a narrow Peninsula that forms that northwestern coast of the country. A little nicer is the Rosarito Beach area.
