When I right click the taskbar and hover over the "search", the "show search box" suboption is no longer visible. Another user account on this computer still has the search box available. It's only unavailable on my account (which is the administrator account).
My Windows 10 search box disappeared a few days ago and it's been replaced with a magnifying glass icon. When I right click the taskbar and hover over the search option, I no longer see the suboption to enable the search box.
Windows 10 Search disappears - unusable. I'm having some issues with search/cortana recently. If I try to search for something, I can type in a few characters and results begin to display, however, the text box freezes up and I can no longer type additional characters.
3 Σεπ 2017 · Set the display scaling to 125% and then back to 100% to fix missing app icons in the search. Do this by going to Settings > System > Screen > Scaling and set it to 125% and then 100% again. Share
18 Σεπ 2023 · There are reasons why the option is not visible. - The search box will only display on the main display. - If the taskbar is not located at the bottom of the main display. - If you use small taskbar buttons unless you have Windows 10 build 19045.3030 or higher.
23 Ιουν 2015 · There is an excellent free utility out there to help you set Google as the default search engine for the Windows 10 taskbar search web queries. Search Deflector lets you redirect Windows 10 taskbar or Cortana search queries to your preferred search engine and web browser.
Press and hold (or right-click) the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. Select Taskbar items to expand the section, then toggle the Search switch to Off. Learn how to adjust your taskbar settings to hide and unhide the search box in the Windows taskbar.
