academies developed a curriculum to provide Rwandan youth with practical political skills through three months of intensive political training sessions. The four top-performing students traveled to Accra, Ghana on a study mission. Nzabonimpa, a graduate of the pilot YPLA, has joined NDI’s staff to assist in coordinating the academies.
Through the Youth Leadership Academy Project, Never Again Rwanda is empowering young people to become active citizens and responsible leaders of their communities. Never Again Rwanda believes youth are future leaders who will be able to use their new skills in leading change and making a positive contribution.

GLA is a two weeks intensive program designed empower young people to vibrantly participate in policy making processes and to have a voice in decision making as well as to build their capacities in leadership, human rights and democracy, the program seeks to develop and nurture future youth leaders.
The trainings of the YPLA seek to prepare youth in political parties in Rwanda for leadership roles, and equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to meaningfully participate in national governance and development.
