GRAND COULEE. Grand Coulee is on State Highway 155 in Grant County. Grand Coulee, Coulee Center, and Coulee Heights sprawled around Engineers Town during the heyday of construction on Grand Coulee Dam. The "towns" eventually merged into Grand Coulee in 1935.
Grand Coulee Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Columbia River in the U.S. state of Washington, built to produce hydroelectric power and provide irrigation water. Constructed between 1933 and 1942, Grand Coulee originally had two powerhouses.
A large basalt rock in the center is typical of the natural landscape of the Grand Coulee. Restrooms and water are available. • Douglas Park – found on SR155 in the town of Coulee Dam.
